With a career spanning over three decades, Pierluigi Piu has left a significant mark on the fields of architecture, interior and product design. A graduate of the Faculty of Architecture in Florence, he co-founded ATELIER PROCONSOLO in Florence and has collaborated with prestigious international studios in Paris, Brussels and London. His experience extends from teaching at the Istituto Europeo di Design to the realization of award-winning projects around the world. His globally recognized works testify to a constant commitment to innovation and quality.

Bio

1989: graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Florence.

Between 1982 and 1985, with Giuseppe Panaro, he founded ATELIER PROCONSOLO in Florence, a design studio and self-production company, participating in various exhibitions in Italy and abroad.

In 1985 he became an associate consultant (for Product and Interior Design) at the ACME' CONSULTANTS studio, based in Paris.

1990: collaborates with the Belgian architect Pierre Lallemand, at the “Art & Build” studio in Brussels.

1991: he began working in the interior design sector in London and, at the same time, opened his own Architecture, Interior and Product Design studio in Cagliari.

1996/1998: collaborates in Brussels with Steven Beckers on the project for the reconstruction and renovation of the Berlaymont Building, the historic seat of the Council of Ministers of the European Community.

1996, 2007, 2012 and 2016: he completed some new commercial space projects in London.

From 2011 to 2022 he taught Interior and Product design at IED, Istituto Europeo di Design.

Between 2007 and 2023 he received numerous awards and recognitions in Russia, China, USA, Canada, Germany and Italy, including, in Rome, the “Compasso d'Oro 2011”, (for his participation in the DOMO project – XIX Biennale dell'Artigianato Sardo).

His works are reported in numerous national and international books and specialist magazines.
