Fruit basket and dishes, table centrepieces. These Objects represent an attempt to redeem cork – natural and ancient material (of which Sardinia is extremely rich) having endless potencialities – from the mortifying and nearly sole role of material for touristic souvenirs within which limits it is nowadays banished. The dishes, in both their square and round version, feature a sequences of waves, the depressions of which may hold different kinds of fruit, while the basket – devoted to take oranges, grapefruits or lemons – consists of a deep vase supported by an oxidized steel ring. All these objects have been turned by the skilful craftsman Salvatore Sanna, from Senorbì (Cagliari).
The project DOMO, of which the objects SUBER are part, was awarded in 2011 with the COMPASSO D'ORO and, therefore, is now part of the ADI Design Musem permanent collection, in Milano, which preserves and exhibits samples of each design product winning the prestigious prize since 1954.
Since 2020 the Vase SUBER also belongs to te permanent collection of the GNAM, Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e contemporanea di Roma.
